Traveling has always been important to me. There is so much to learn from experiencing new places. Everywhere has something to see no matter how big, small, populated, or remote. So many differences can be found in the history, geography, architecture, customs, and culinary preferences of an area. My passion for traveling started early, as my mother always took my brother and me to visit new places. I am fortunate enough to be married to someone that finds traveling so exciting. It does not hurt that he travels for a living.
In the past few years, I have been diagnosed with a brain tumor. For two years I was unable to drive. So, I found myself in a position that I could finally travel with my husband. It was travel or stay in the house alone for long periods. Easy choice. So grateful for this opportunity, I decided to see and do as much as possible. We all have a point that we come to when we are not able to travel as much as we would like due to medical or family reasons. I tag along on his journeys as often as possible.
I prefer to experience a new place, not just visit. I like to eat where the locals eat and explore the places that they recommend. People originally from the area tend to know the best places to check out. I have been able to take pottery and yoga classes in fabulous locations during my travels. It makes the experience so unforgettable when you can combine activities that you love with traveling. I love the outdoors: running, hiking, biking, and kayaking. Running a half marathon in a foreign country has been one of my favorite experiences.
My goal is to provide people with the information that I have found valuable while traveling. I spend a lot of time researching before we go to a new place. Many tips I pick up while exploring and meeting new people. I hope to offer this information in one place, as an easy reference for those planning a dream vacation. Everyone may not have the time to research or travel enough to collect certain information. I hope you have fun following her endless journey. I am always on a journey!
